Together with base model 2024 Ford Mustang American car manufacturer introduced a special version called the Ford Mustang Dark Horse.
The all-new Ford Mustang Dark Horse is the first new line of high-performance Mustangs in 21 years, featuring sinister yet premium exterior and interior styling and a powerful engine.
The highlight of the Ford Mustang Dark Horse is its unique 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine, first introduced in the 760-horsepower Ford Performance Mustang Shelby GT500. The engine power in the Ford Mustang Dark Horse will be 500 hp.
“We took the all-new Mustang, the best of our new 5.0-liter V8, and added power, improved aerodynamics, tires, steering, and provided an interactive cockpit to create a Mustang that outperforms any 5.0-liter Mustang built before this,” said Ed Krenz, Ford Mustang chief engineer.
The Ford Mustang Dark Horse incorporates a dual-throttle design for improved engine performance, highlighted by open “nostrils” in the front grille. The Mustang Dark Horse comes standard with TREMEC’s unique six-speed manual transmission, which the driver will control via a 3D printed titanium shift ball. Drivers can also opt for Ford’s advanced 10-speed automatic transmission with sporty paddle shifters for quick and precise shifting.
Additional drivetrain enhancements are implemented to improve performance on the track. The Ford Mustang Dark Horse includes NACA brake cooling channels, an additional engine oil cooler, a rear axle radiator, and a unique and lighter radiator with improved cooling capacity and stronger cooling fans for improved endurance.
The Mustang Dark Horse features a unique chassis setup, large rear anti-roll bars and heavy-duty front shock absorbers. Braking is handled by 19-inch Brembo 6-piston front brakes with 13.9-inch rotors.
The driver-focused “immersive digital cockpit” is the same as the standard version of the new Ford Mustang.
