The Chinese Ministry of Industry has declassified the parameters of the Smart #3 crossover, the fruit of cooperation between Mercedes-Benz and Geely. The first was responsible for the exterior and interior of the car, and the second – for the units.
Smart #3 is based on the SEA platform, which has already built a large number of cars in a variety of bodies: Lotus Eletre, Polestar 3, Volvo EX90, Zeekr 001, Zeekr 002, Radar RD6, Jidu ROBO-1, Smart #1. Smart #3 turned out to be noticeably larger than Smart #1: dimensions are 4400 x 1844 x 1556 mm, and the wheelbase is a decent 2785 mm.
The base crossover is rear-wheel drive, with an electric motor with a capacity of 272 hp. In the top version, there are two electric motors, the drive, respectively, is full, and the power of the power plant is already 428 hp. True, the car cannot be called light either: the curb weight is 1740 – 1890 kg, depending on the version.
According to the Chinese regulator, CALB and Sunwoda were suppliers of traction batteries for Smart #3, but there is no data on the range.
