After this, 3 crore units were produced in a record 40 years and 4 months. This figure has been achieved the fastest here compared to any Suzuki production base around the world.

More than 2.68 crore vehicles have been produced in the company’s manufacturing plants located in Haryana, while more than 32 lakh vehicles have been produced in MSIL’s wholly owned subsidiary Suzuki Motor Gujarat. More than 29 lakh units of Maruti 800 were produced. It has played an important role in the total production achievement. Apart from this, successful models like Alto 800, Alto K10, Swift, WagonR, Dezire, Omni, Baleno, Eeco, Brezza and Ertiga also contributed significantly.

Since the beginning, the company has been leading in the domestic market. Not only in the domestic market, it also exports from India. The company started exports in 1987 and today contributes about 40% of the total vehicle exports from India. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “We are committed to ‘Make in India’ and are strengthening our operations in the country while meeting the needs of the domestic and global markets. “Vehicles contribute about 40% to exports.”

He said, “We plan to increase our annual production capacity to 4 million units by FY 2030-31. Working in this direction, we are setting up two new green field manufacturing plants in Kharkhoda-Haryana and Gujarat. “Each of which will have a production capacity of 10 lakh. We will increase our model series from the current 18 to 28 by the financial year 2030-31.”
