40 crore devotees, revenue of Rs 2 lakh crore… Mahakumbh economy will get such a boost, CM Yogi calculates benefits – Maha Kumbh

 

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday that 40 crore devotees are expected to come to Mahakumbh this year, hence the revenue generation from Mahakumbh is expected to increase to Rs 2 lakh crore. According to the official statement, while speaking at the ‘Divine Uttar Pradesh: The Must Visit Sacred Journey’ conference organized by a leading media group, CM Yogi praised the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.

Talking about the economic impact of Mahakumbh, Chief Minister Yogi said that the 2019 event contributed Rs 1.2 lakh crore to the state’s economy. This year 40 crore devotees are expected to come, Mahakumbh is expected to increase economic development by Rs 2 lakh crore.

CM Yogi Adityanath said that from January to September in the year 2024, more than 16 crore devotees have come to Varanasi for darshan of Kashi Vishwanath and more than 13.55 crore devotees have come to Ayodhya.

In the press statement, the Chief Minister said, “The Maha Kumbh Mela, which will run from January 13 to February 26, will give prominence to the ancient cultural and religious traditions of India at the global level. Emphasizing the spiritual and social importance of the Maha Kumbh, he said that this event is not just a religious event. It is not a gathering, but a symbol of social and spiritual unity. He described Mahakumbh as the largest temporary city in the world, in which 50 lakh to 1 crore devotees are expected to come at any time.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described Mahakumbh as a big spiritual event and said that it is a grand, divine and digitally advanced gathering, where faith and modernity meet. He said the central and state governments have tried to ensure the success of the Maha Kumbh with the cooperation of “revered” saints.

Preparations in full swing before Mahakumbh

According to the agency, officials said, “Preparations are in full swing before Mahakumbh. Bathing ghats are being built in the 12 km area of ​​Sangam. Efforts for cleaning, construction and increasing security have been intensified. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Lighting arrangements are being made at all the ghats in anticipation of D.K.’s visit to Prayagraj.”

The statement issued said, “Stairs are being made from straw filled in sacks, brass and clay mixture, while separate changing rooms for women have been made at all the ghats. The statement further said that in view of the huge crowd coming for Mahakumbh, special security arrangements are being made. Watch towers are being installed to monitor the confluence area and water barricading is being arranged at all the ghats.
