Police have saved a 38 -day -old child from the clutches of kidnappers in Goregaon, Mumbai in Maharashtra. The innocent was abducted by a four -member gang from Goregaon (East) area with the intention of selling. An official said that four gang members including two women have been arrested.
On March 2, a couple selling blankets on the Western Express Highway lodged a complaint at Vanarai police station that their 38 -day -old son was missing. The official said that the couple missed out on catching their train to Vasai adjacent to Palghar and slept on the road and the child went missing from there.
On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered against unknown persons. He said that during the investigation, the aspect of kidnapping came to light, after which special teams were formed to catch the criminals. The police investigated around 11,000 auto-rickshaws and questioned their drivers as they had received information that the accused had traveled in a similar vehicle. According to the official, his efforts were successful when he targeted a man associated with the kidnapping and caught him in Malad (West).
After this, the accused person gave information about the kidnapped child, from which he could be saved. Later, other accused were also arrested. He said that the gang members told the police that they were planning to sell the kidnapped child. The case is under investigation.
