Under this new partnership, Bounce Infinity plans to set up battery swap stations in 10 cities across India. It is worth noting that the company will set up more than 300 charging stations in each city.
Battery swapping stations will be available not only for two wheeler electric vehicles but also for three wheeler electric vehicles. Batteries of Bounce Infinity and Ampere electric scooters can be swapped at these battery swap stations.
Bounce Infinity says it plans to set up battery swapping stations within a one kilometer radius of the city. For this, the company will set up a robust swapping infrastructure to support over one million scooters over the next 12-24 months.
What is Battery Swap Station
Nowadays electric scooters are coming with fixed battery and detachable battery. The battery cannot be removed from scooters with fixed battery, whereas the detachable battery can be taken out of the scooter and charged anywhere at your convenience.
A big advantage of a detachable battery is that if the battery runs out of charge, it can be removed from the scooter and replaced with a charge unit. This saves the time taken to charge the battery. The detachable battery can be replaced in a matter of seconds and does not require a mechanic.
Bounce Mobility launched its Infinity e1 electric scooter only last year. It has been made available in the market in two options, which include the first battery model and the second without battery model. The battery model has been priced at Rs 68,999, while the one without the battery is available for Rs 45,099. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
The Bounce Infinity E1 is capable of delivering a range of 85 kms in Eco mode and 65 kms in Power mode on a full charge. The scooter can be driven at a top speed of 65 kmph. The company has launched it in five colors which include Sporty Red, Pearl White, Sparkle Black, Comet Gray and Desert Silver.
