Chery has officially started taking orders in China for its flagship crossover Chery Tiggo 9. You can do this for just 9.9 yuan – about $ 1.5. The final cost is called only approximately – 160 thousand yuan, which is approximately 1.7 million rubles or 23 thousand dollars. So much, apparently, will be asked for the basic version of Tiggo 9. The first customers will receive the car in May this year.
Chery Tiggo 9 is called the flagship of the line for a reason: it is about 10 cm longer than Tiggo 8 Pro both outside and inside. Dimensions Tiggo 9 are 4820 x 1930 x 1699 mm, wheelbase – 2820 mm. The car will have options for 5- and 7-seater.
Now many live photos of both the crossover itself and its interior have been published: if the outside (in profile) of the Tiggo 9 is somewhat reminiscent of the Jaguar F-Pace, then the interior is compared with Mercedes (if not in quality, then at least in design).
However, it can be assumed that among all Chery there will indeed be a “real luxury” here – at least Chinese sources speak quite unambiguously about the interior of the crossover, not stinting on praise.
Equipment to match the flagship: there are two screens, SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155, a 5G modem with the function of “sharing the Internet” via Wi-Fi, Sony acoustics with 14 speakers, atmospheric lighting with 255 colors. Interestingly, as many as (27!) Airflow deflectors are scattered throughout the car: it should not be that the driver and passenger in front are “fried”, and the gallery is freezing. The Tiggo 9 will also have a range of Level 2.9 driving assistants – it’s still not a full-fledged autopilot, but a very decent level of autonomy within specific functions (for example, fully automatic parking or autonomous driving within a lane). A 50-inch head-up display is also mentioned, but the panoramic roof is already clearly visible in the photo.
So far, the Chery Tiggo 9 is a conventional gasoline crossover with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and 261 hp. It works in tandem with an 8-speed “automatic”. The drive in the top version, of course, is complete. In the future, a hybrid version will also be released, with a range of about 1,300 km and integrated charging with a power of 60 kW. The hybrid will be powerful – such a Tiggo 9 will accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds. Speaking of the Tiggo 9, one cannot fail to mention the CDC suspension with several modes of operation and automatic stiffness adjustment depending on the quality of the road surface.
