Toyota Tacoma launch: Toyota Tacoma recently entered its 30th year in USA and now Toyota will launch its new Tacoma later this year. The 2024 Tacoma will be built on the TNGA-F platform with a new design language. For India and some ASEAN countries, features from the new Tacoma will be carried over to the Fortuner SUV and Hilux pickup truck.
Will be launched in four variants
Toyota is about to launch four variants of the Tacoma. This includes the TRD Sport with chrome grille and wheels, the hardcore TRD Pro and the trail-able Trailhunter. Toyota will first launch them in the USA later this year and will be followed by other markets.
2024 Toyota Tacoma Debut
The new Toyota is much more powerful and muscular than the current Tacoma. The 2024 Toyota Tacoma will compete with other mid-size pickup trucks like the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, Nissan Frontier Pro and the Ford Ranger. The Tacoma offers the branded i-Force Maxx with a hybrid powertrain coupled with an in-line 4 motor. Talking about its hybrid powertrain, it is equipped with a 2.4L turbocharged in-line 4 engine, which is paired with a 1.9 kWh battery and 48 bhp electric motor.

Buyers can choose between a manual transmission and an 8-speed automatic. Although the engine found in the new Tacoma generates power of 326 bhp and torque of 630.45 Nm. It gets RWD with limited slip diff as standard for the base SR and SR5 trims. It will get 33.8-degree approach angle off-road credentials, 23.5-degree departure angle and 25.7-degree breakover angle.

On the inside, an 8” infotainment touchscreen and 7” instrument cluster are standard, but the higher trims get a 14” touchscreen infotainment screen along with a 12.3” instrument cluster. Also, features like wireless phone charger, digital rearview mirror, 10-speaker JBL system with JBL Bluetooth speaker, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have been provided. In this, cruise control has been given onboard off-road situation with Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS suite. The company may launch the new generation Fortuner and Hilux by 2024 or later.
