2023 Nissan Serena unveiled with waterproof seat covers and ProPilot 2.0 autopilot

Nissan has officially unveiled the mid-size minivan Nissan Serena 2023, which entered the sixth generation. The novelty received a richer package than its predecessor, and the ProPilot 2.0 autopilot.

The 2023 Serena received more interior space as well as a modern design with new headlights and grille. Nissan claims it has the widest windshield in its class. The sliding door on the passenger side can open automatically and all lighting is LED.

Compared to the previous model, there is 120 millimeters more legroom behind the wheel. The redesigned interior uses a new gearshift lever for the first time. Parents with many children will appreciate the waterproof seat covers, as well as the numerous USB ports for powering multimedia devices on long trips. All passengers have their own air conditioning system.

Depending on the configuration, the car has a length of 4690 or 4765 mm and a width of 1695 or 1715 mm. The height also depends on the variant: some models have a height of 1870 mm, others – 1885 mm or 1895 mm. The wheelbase is either 3135mm or 3145mm. Depending on the configuration, the weight varies from 2,110 to 2,235 kg.

The petrol version is equipped with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine with 150 hp. and a torque of 200 Nm, which is offered with all-wheel drive and a CVT. There’s also an e-Power hybrid model (front-wheel drive only) with Nissan’s new and quieter 98bhp 1.4-liter engine. and 123 Nm of torque. In combination with an electric motor, the total power is 163 hp. at 315 Nm of torque.

An important feature is the ProPilot 2.0 system, which allows you to drive on the motorway in one lane at speeds above 40 km / h. This option is available on the Luxion version, which is also equipped with the ProPilot Park system, a first for Nissan to recognize parking space lines.

Domestic prices in Japan start at around €19,300 for the base petrol model and go up to €33,500 for the e-Power Luxion. The ICE Serena will go on sale this winter, while the hybrid will go on sale in the spring of 2023.
