Japanese automaker Honda has unveiled a new 2023 Civic Type R hot hatchback that is the most powerful Honda R series car ever made.
This is the sixth Honda Civic Type R model since the launch of the series in 1997. The car is built in accordance with the concept of Ultimate Sports 2.0 based on the 11th generation Civic and received a 2-liter turbocharged K20 engine and a six-speed manual transmission, which have been improved.
The car retains front-wheel drive, wide wheel arches with 19-inch matte black alloy wheels and bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Also installed are an upgraded Brembo braking system with two-piece brake discs, an updated radiator for better cooling and a new triple exhaust design.
The cabin has red bucket seats and a classic-shaped leather-wrapped steering wheel. The infotainment system received a 10.2-inch touchscreen display on the center console.
Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km / h and top speed, as well as other characteristics have not yet been disclosed. They will be announced along with the price closer to the release of the car, which is expected this fall.
Deliveries to European customers are scheduled for early 2023.
