2022 MG ZS EV vs Tata Nexon EV: Price
MG Motor India has launched its 2022 MG ZS EV at a price of Rs 22.00 lakh (ex-showroom), while its top-spec variant has been priced at Rs 25.88 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Tata Nexon EV SUV is being sold at a price of Rs 14.29 lakh to Rs 16.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
2022 MG ZS EV vs Tata Nexon EV: Size
The length of the 2022 MG ZS EV has been kept at 4,323 mm, width at 1,809 mm and height at 1,649 mm. At the same time, its wheelbase has been kept at 2,581 mm and 17-inch alloy wheels are available. The Tata Nexon EV measures 3,993 mm in length, 1,811 mm in width and 1,606 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,498 mm.
2022 MG ZS EV vs Tata Nexon EV: Motor, Battery and Range
Talking about the electric motor, the permanent magnet synchronous motor is used in the 2022 MG ZS EV. Its electric motor provides power of 176 bhp and maximum torque of 280 Nm. A battery of 50 kWh capacity has been used in this.
The company claims that the battery of this SUV offers a range of up to 461 km on a full charge, which is 42 km more than its pre-facelift model. And when charged with a 50 kW DC fast charger, its battery can be charged up to 80 percent in 60 minutes.
On the other hand, talking about Tata Nexon EV, the company uses permanent magnet synchronous motor in this SUV as well. Although its electric motor provides 129 bhp power and 245 Nm torque, which is much less than the 2022 MG ZS EV.
Apart from this, talking about the battery found in Tata Nexon EV, Tata Motors uses a battery of 30.2 kWh capacity in it. The battery can be charged up to 80 percent in 60 minutes when charged with a 25 kW DC fast charger and has a range of up to 312 km.
This is how the new MG ZS EV facelift has been compared to its electric SUV rival on paper. However, how the car performs in the real world can only be determined if it is road tested.
