At this price point, it becomes the cheapest electric car in India. Its top-spec variant costs Rs 2 lakh less than the top-end variant of the Tata Tiago EV. Its competition in the market will be from Tata Tiago EV, whose price ranges from Rs. 8.69 lakh to Rs. 11.99 lakh.

However, these are introductory prices and will be valid only for the first 5,000 buyers. Bookings for this will start from May 15 and deliveries will start from May 22, 2023. MG Comet has been equipped with a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The company claims that it will give a driving range of 230 km per full charge. It gets a single electric motor, which generates 42bhp and 110Nm. MG claims that the Comet EV can be fully charged in 7 hours using a regular AC charger. DC fast charging support is not available in this.
It gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen display. This is floating twin display. It gets safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, 3 point seat belts at front and rear, rear parking camera and sensors, TPMS and ISOFIX child seats. It also gets i-SMART 55+ connected car features and 100+ voice commands.
