AMD will host a big event tomorrow where the company will showcase new processors and graphics cards. Among the latter will be the Radeon RX 6500 XT, a new budget model. Despite its status, some parameters of this model are not at all budgetary. For example, the GPU frequency: the source writes that the maximum GPU frequency will be 2815 MHz. The base will be equal to 2610 MHz. This is about 10% faster than the frequency of the Radeon RX 6600 XT on the Navi 23 GPU.
The Radeon RX 6500 XT and RX 6400 (both of which are expected to premiere tomorrow) will be powered by a 6nm Navi 24 GPU. In other words, these video cards will be the first in the world based on a 6nm GPU.
The second important feature of the Radeon RX 6500 XT is the use of 18 GHz memory, although earlier it was said about the use of 16 GHz memory. Of course, this gives a large memory bandwidth even if the bus is 64-bit. The volume of GDDR6 memory will be 4 GB, the TDP level is 107 W. The cost of the new item has not been reported, but it will definitely be cheaper than the Radeon RX 6600 XT.
