According to the latest data, Nvidia will release two versions of the GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card: with 12 and 16 GB of memory. New rumors indicate that both versions will be released at the same time, and not as it was with the RTX 3080.
Recall that at one time the GeForce GTX 1060 with 3 and 6 GB of memory was simultaneously presented, while they differed in other characteristics. The RTX 4080 versions are still credited with the same GPU configurations (9728 CUDA cores), but different memory buses: 192-bit and 256-bit. Thus, the adapters will differ in the amount of memory and its bandwidth.
Interestingly, there were also rumors that the two versions would rely on different GPUs. Allegedly, a modification with 12 GB of memory will receive an AD104 GPU, but a version with 16 GB will be based on the older AD103. However, for users it will not matter.
