Rumor that Intel is preparing to release its most powerful CPU in the Alder Lake line, was confirmed. The company posted on Twitter a teaser for a 16-core, 24-thread processor that clocks up to 5.5 GHz. True, this is the maximum frequency for only one core. According to preliminary data, the maximum frequency when loading all high-performance cores (P-cores) will be 5.2 GHz.
The Intel Core i9-12900KS will be the top end of the Alder Lake desktop CPU line, and it is the direct successor to the Core i9-9900KS. It will be a factory scalped processor that should compete with AMD’s top-of-the-line Ryzen 6000 desktop CPUs. Their premiere is expected tomorrow evening.
