TML CV Mobility Solutions Limited, a unit of India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors, has signed an agreement with the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) to operate new 1500 electric buses in the city of Delhi. Under the agreement, TML CV Mobility Solutions Limited will look after the supply, operation and maintenance of 1500 units of 12-metre low-floor AC electric buses for 12 years. The Tata Starbus EV is a homegrown vehicle with sleek design and best-in-class features for a robust and comfortable travel.
Delhi Transport Corporation Shilpa Shinde, IAS, MD, said, “We are delighted to sign the agreement for the largest ever order of 1500 electric buses in Delhi. This is a major decision towards adoption of electric mobility in Delhi. The introduction of zero emission and noise free buses will help in improving the air quality of the city. The new buses will also benefit the passengers with their advanced features and comfortable seating.”
Commenting on the matter, Asim Kumar Mukhopadhyay, President, TML CV Mobility Solutions Ltd. said, “This is a great opportunity for us as we have partnered with the country’s largest electric bus Signed an agreement for the order. We have been working with DTC for more than a decade. This relationship of ours is going to get stronger with this step. Tata Motors Key’s advanced research and development has continuously worked on vehicles running on new fuel technologies including battery-electric, hybrid, CNG, LNG and hydrogen fuel cell technology. Tata Motors has so far supplied over 730 electric buses across multiple cities in India which have now covered a distance of over 55 million kms.
