Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has added a total of 12.9 lakh subscribers in the month of October this year, which means that so many people have opened accounts under EPFO. On the other hand, 5.6 lakh employees have been out of EPFO. The Union labor and employment ministry has informed on Tuesday that the number of employees has increased by 21,026 in October compared to the same period last year.
As per EPFO data, out of 12.9 lakh employees, 7.2 lakh employees are connected to EPFO for the first time. These employees will now be entitled to PF deduction and invest in pension. Out of this, most of the employees are in the age group of 18 to 21, whose number is 2.2 lakh employees. In addition, 1.9 employees are aged 22 to 25. The ministry said that 57.2 per cent of the workforce is in the age group of 18 to 25 years.
5.6 lakh workers left
According to the information given by EPFO, there are about 5 lakh 60 thousand employees who have been out of EPFO in October 2022. Although these people have left the old job and joined the new job. On joining the new job, the PF contribution of most of the employees has increased, which means that their salary has increased. Also the funds from your old EPF account have been transferred to the new account.
More than 2 lakh women participated
2.6 lakh women have joined in October 2022 under the Employees Provident Fund account. Apart from this, 1.9 lakh women employees have joined EPFO for the first time. Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and other states have shown month-on-month growth. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Haryana added 7.7 lakh employees during October.
