After religion, caste politics has intensified in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal has tried to hit many targets with one stone. Actually, Kejriwal has made a move for Jat reservation before the elections. Kejriwal wrote a letter to the Prime Minister regarding the Jat vote, which has the power of eight percent votes in Delhi and has the power to change the results on ten seats. Just before the elections, there has been a demand that the Jat community should be included in the OBC category.
Aam Aadmi Party first promised to give Rs 18 thousand per month to the priests. Then there was a move to form Sanatan Seva Samiti against BJP’s temple cell. Coming from the pitch of religion to the pitch of caste, Arvind Kejriwal, while starting his political batting, raised the issue of Jats not being included in the OBC category in Delhi and backward classes not getting reservation. He turned the arrow of blame towards BJP. The motive behind this is to cultivate 8 percent Jat votes of Delhi, which are decisive on 10 seats.
These are the 5 reasons for war on Jat votes?
The reason for the sudden war breaking out over Jat votes is not just like this. The first reason behind this is that in comparison to 2015, in 2020, apart from Vaishya, among the castes of Hindu votes, the only Jat vote was that of Aam Aadmi Party which had increased, while all the rest had decreased to some extent. The second reason for this is that in comparison to 2015, in 2020, the Aam Aadmi Party has attracted the entire Jat vote of the Congress. Which she does not want to let happen or divide any more. The third reason is that 225 out of 364 villages in Delhi are Jat dominated. The fourth reason is that in Delhi, Kejriwal’s own Jat leader Kailash Gehlot is now in the electoral fray from BJP. The fifth reason is that Parvesh Verma is the BJP candidate against Kejriwal on the New Delhi seat, who comes from the Jat community.
Jats have been cheated by BJP for 10 years: Kejriwal
Kejriwal alleged that the Jat community of Delhi has been cheated by BJP for the last 10 years. The Jat community of Delhi does not get reservation in any college, university or institution of the Central Government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah remember the Jats of Delhi before the elections. The Jat community of Rajasthan gets reservation inside Delhi but the Jat community of Delhi does not get reservation. There are five more castes in the state OBC list of Delhi, which are not in the Centre’s OBC list.
Wrote a letter to PM demanding Jat reservation
Arvind Kejriwal also wrote a letter to PM Modi in this regard. He has demanded in this letter that the Jat community should be included in the list of OBC. Kejriwal has said in a letter to PM Modi that you have betrayed the Jat community of Delhi. Jats and all other castes having OBC status in Delhi should be included in the OBC list of the Centre. In 2015, the Center had called the leaders of the Jat community to their home and promised that the Jat community of Delhi would be included in the OBC list of the Centre. In 2019, Amit Shah had promised to bring Jat community in the OBC list of the Centre.
Kejriwal is dividing Delhi on the basis of caste: Pravesh Verma
Responding to the allegations, BJP leader and candidate from New Delhi seat Pravesh Verma claimed that Kejriwal’s political ground is slipping, hence the AAP leader has started dividing Delhi on the basis of caste. He said that Kejriwal never remembered the Jat community in the last 11 years. Arvind Kejriwal, who once talked about secularism, is now dividing Delhi on the basis of caste. If anyone has given constitutional recognition to the National OBC Commission, it is Prime Minister Modi. To include Jats or any caste in the OBC list, the state government will first have to approve the proposal and send it to the OBC Commission. Kejriwal’s government held special sessions, but used them only to criticize the Center and the LG, and never passed the proposal to include Jats in the OBC category.”
